The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal named Plymouth resident Jackie Schneider one of this year’s Women in Business Award winners, the magazine announced Friday. Schneider is vice president of sales and customer service at Maple Plain-based Proto Labs Inc. She’s helped grow revenue from $36 million when she began in 2007 to $126 million in 2012 and has grown the sales and customer service team from 13 to 66 people. That growth led to Proto Labs’ successful initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange in 2012.
“I really admire women who make it to the executive level, which is a challenge in corporate America,” a news release quoted Schneider’s nominator, Marmy Nelson, Proto Labs’ senior international compliance manager. “It has been said that women don’t do enough to encourage other women, and I wanted to nominate Jackie as an example to the young women in our company.”
Schneider also volunteers for the Wayzata High School cross-country ski team and is a member of Menttium—a corporate mentoring program that helps women and organizations through reciprocal mentoring partnerships. She was recently selected to sit on the RAZR Marketing board of advisors.
“We’re pleased to have an executive of Jackie’s caliber on the leadership team at Proto Labs,” the release quoted Brad Cleveland, Proto Labs’ president and CEO. “This recognition of her accomplishments by the Business Journal is well deserved.”
