To help residents dispose of tree debris from recent storms, the city of Plymouth will offer extended hours at the city-operated Yard Waste Drop-off Site and accept tree debris at two additional temporary locations throughout the week.
The week of June 23, the Yard Waste Site, 14900 23rd Ave. N., will be open 3 – 8 p.m. Monday – Friday (The site is typically closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.) The site will be open normal hours of 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Temporary Drop-Off Sites Available
To help ease lines at the yard waste site, the city has set up two temporary drop-off locations. Residents may bring tree debris to the parking lots of Bass Lake Playfield, 5450 Northwest Blvd., and West Medicine Lake Park, 1920 West Medicine Lake Dr.

City Manager Laurie Ahrens said that the hours at the yard waste site were extended and the additional sites were added to reduce wait times at the main site. On Saturday the yard waste site had more than 1,600 drop-offs by residents. The two auxiliary sites had more than 50 visits each, according to Ahrens.
Other City Operations
The City of Plymouth Public Works Department has been busy with keeping lift stations and wells operating in the face of power outages, according to Ahrens.
“We know it will be a long recovery. Our emphasis over the weekend has been getting roads open, keeping our water and sewer infrastructure running and extending hours at the yard waste site. On Monday, city crews will begin working on cleaning tree debris in parks and on trails,” Ahrens said.
