Two Newcomers File For Open Plymouth Council Seats

Four seats are open on the Plymouth City Council and six people have filed for them.

The deadline to file for office for one of the four open Plymouth City Council seats was 5 p.m. Aug. 14. Those filed have until 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012.

As of 5 p.m. Aug. 14 the following people had filed for the following four City Council seats:

• Ward 1 (northwest Plymouth, 4-year term): incumbent Judy Johnson runs unopposed.

• Ward 2 (southwest Plymouth, 2-year term): Jeff Wosje, who was appointed to the seat last fall as it became vacant mid-term and newcomer Ned Carroll, who had also been in the running and applied for the appointment last fall.

• Ward 3  (southeast Plymouth, 4-year term): incumbent Bob Stein runs unopposed.

•  At-Large (4-year term): incumbent Jim Willis and newcomer Dan Waltenberg.

If none who filed withdraw their filing application they will be on the ballot for General Election Day voting Tuesday, Nov. 6.
