Wayzata East M.S. Wins Teacher's Lounge Makeover

teachers are celebrating back to school in style! In addition to apples and freshly sharpened pencils, their new teachers’ lounge will be revealed just before the school year begins! 

After entering a video contest seeking submissions from metro-area schools describing why their teachers deserve a new lounge, John Siegrist, health educator at Wayzata East Middle School, won a makeover for his school with the help and participation of several other staff. The entire school community mobilized to vote for this makeover.

then designed, planned and installed this makeover, which will be revealed to the contest winners this 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23 at the school.

“We want to say huge ‘thank you’ to all those local businesses who participated in this makeover,” said Michelle Lyons, website administrator at Schneiderman’s Furniture and contest coordinator. “We wanted to provide creative design solutions for the staff, all of whom really deserve an energizing space to prepare for their classes. We are honored to have the opportunity to help the Wayzata East Middle School community and we’re excited to show off the space!”
