It will still be 70 degrees at 9 p.m. tonight. Get outside, hit the links, take a stroll or have a bbq. Just do something to get outdoors!

2. Buttons are still available for Rosefest 2011. $3 and a trip to any City of Roseville facility gets you one. 

3. On this date in 1948, African American leaders in the Twin Cities reject an offer to establish an "all-Negro" unit of the Minnesota National Guard. The group tells state adjutant general Ellard A. Walsh that it cannot accept the offer as a matter of principle. Walsh had proposed forming a truck company so that Minnesota's African Americans could take advantage of a provision in the draft law that exempted guardsmen from the draft.

4. Tonight is the night for either a pasta dinner or a quick drive around the city while you still can. Tomorrow at 7:55 the Run/Roll for the Roses kicks off. The 5-10k race will close County Road C from Hamline to Dale St as of 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Dale St will be delayed from 7:45 a.m.; County Road B2 will be delayed from 7:50 a.m; and Lexington Ave from County Rd C to B2 will be closed from 7:40-9:15 a.m.
