Select Comfort's First U.S. Sleep Number Store Takes a New Location

Ribbon-cutting ceremony held Thursday afternoon.

Select Comfort Corp.'s first U.S. Sleep Number store has taken up new residence.

But the maiden store hasn't relocated very far from its original site.

On Thursday, Select Comfort officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Sleep Number store that is at the Rosedale Commons shopping center on County Road B2. That's across the street from Rosedale Center where this first Sleep Number store began business. Tim Roche, CEO of the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce, was on hand to participate in the festivities.

In moving across the street to Rosedale Commons, the Sleep Number store now has 4,900 square feet, more than triple the 890 square feet it had at Rosedale Center, according to Nick Sund, manager of the Roseville Sleep Number store.

"This (new store) is much better for the customer experience," Sund said.

Minneapolis-based Select Comfort has about 400 U.S. Sleep Number stores including several in Minnesota. Twin Cities locations include Bloomington, Maple Grove, Maplewood, Minnetonka and Woodbury.

The new Roseville store opened last August. But the company didn't officially recognize its new location until Thursday.

The relocation of the Sleep Number store is among several new retailers taking residence during the last two years at Rosedale Commons. Other new tenants include Bed Bath & Beyond, Destination XL, Kirkland's and the Xfinity Experience Center.
