Communications Commission: Scholarship Applications Now Being Accepted

North Suburban Communications Commission and Comcast will be awarding at least $30,000 in scholarships.

 

The North Suburban Communications Commission (NSCC) announced it plans to award at least $30,000 in scholarships to people in the organization's 10-city region for communications training.

In a press statement the Commission,which is based in Roseville, said it is now accepting applications for the annual scholarship awards. It is offering the scholarships in a joint initiative with Comcast.

Here's what the Commission is saying:

"This year, at least $30,000 in scholarships will be awarded to residents of the Comcast viewing area in the communities of Arden Hills, Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, Mounds View, New Brighton, North Oaks, Roseville, St. Anthony, and Shoreview. The minimum award will be $1,000. Applicants must be residents of one of the 10 cities listed above.

Applicants must have completed at least one year of college or vocational training, with a primary field of study in mass communication, journalism, television production, video engineering, or a similar course of study.

Applications will be available at city halls, high school counseling and college financial aid offices, and libraries in the 10-city area. At the NSCC website go to: www.CTVNorthSuburbs.org/scholarship or by calling the NSCC office at 651-792-7500.

To be considered, the completed application must be returned no later than 4 p.m., Friday, April 12 to: North Suburban Communications Commission Scholarship, 2670 Arthur Street, Roseville, MN 55113

Students selected for a scholarship award will be notified in May and will be invited to receive their awards at the North Suburban Communications Commission's June 6 meeting."
