Foodsby Connecting Roseville Restaurants with Office Clients
Think of the Minneapolis-based online network as a "virtual food truck," connecting restaurants with office workers.
A new Twin Cities-based company is bringing together Roseville restaurants and area office customers with an online ordering network that is serving as a "virtual food truck."
Foodsby launched last year and began serving the Roseville area in in November. The company said its online service is intended to make it easier and more cost effective for office workers and other business people to order meals for delivery.
“Consumers often face hefty fees when ordering food from delivery services, such as minimum order amounts, delivery fees and tips. It’s expensive for individuals to order a meal for delivery just for him/herself on these types of services,” Ben Cattoor, Foodsby founder and CEO, said in a press statement.

“We wanted to change the game of delivery and cater to the individual," Cattoor said. "There’s no order minimums or tipping on our service. We also aggregate individual orders for the restaurant, which means more restaurants are able to cost-effectively enter the delivery market. This gives consumers more choices for quality delivered meals.”
In a press statement, Foodsby said its service works like this: Restaurants arrange their delivery schedule. The restaurant chooses the building, day and time it will deliver and the time orders need to be placed on Foodsby.com. Individuals at the location order online based on the days and time each restaurant has selected.

All orders are processed and paid for directly on Foodsby, and Foodsby aggregates the individual orders at each location into a mass delivery for the restaurant to make itself."
Currently, office buildings in Roseville that are on our system are FICO, Minnesota State Lottery and Olsen-Thielen & Co," said Whitney Johnson, a Foodsby representative. Foodsby's partner restaurants serving Roseville include Subway, Quiznos, Java Train Cafe, Dino's, Joe Senser's Grill & Bar and Honey Baked Ham, she said.
"I think it (Foodsby) is a great concept and definitely has some potential," said Tom Horwath, manager at the Roseville Joe Senser's Sport Grill. "Right now we are only using Foodsby one day a week for lunch, and it has generated on average $150 in extra sales.
"So far we are delivering to three office buildings on Wednesdays (MN State Lottery, FICO and Olsen Thielen & Co.)," Horwath told Roseville Patch. "We see it as a great option for customers that want good food and different options for lunch, but that might be too busy to go out to eat every day.
Horwath added, "It also makes it easy on the restaurants that don't typically deliver since we are doing only one delivery to a centralized location and all payments are done online."
Foodsby said consumers can request their office to be a part of the network at www.foodsby.com/add-location. Upon joining the network, the consumer is asked to share the location with colleagues to build awareness and interest. Restaurants look at the amount of people added to the shared location to determine if they will deliver there, and will notify the location upon acceptance.
