McCarron's Pub & Grill Debuts in Roseville Area

It was opening day Friday for McCarron's Pub & Grill, a new restaurant just across the Roseville border in neighboring Maplewood. 

The eating and drinking establishment at 1986 Rice St. replaces the former Dean's Tavern, which closed this winter. The Pioneer Press reported about Dean's demise in this news brief. 

Friday afternoon, McCarron's parking lot was close to full. 

"It's been steady all day," bartender Melanie Heldt said of McCarron's opening-day customer traffic.  Owners of the new eatery are Paul and Steve Mateyka. 

One of McCarron's inaugural customers, Lee Smith, of Rosevile, said he is impressed with the restaurant/bar, saying the new owners have done a good job remodeling the building.
