Mayor: Roseville To Look at Multi-Family Rental Housing Regulation

Roe's comment comes in his 2013 State of the City address.

Roseville Mayor Dan Roe said he expects the City Council this year to study and possibly adopt measures to license and inspect multiple-framily rental housing in the community.

Roe's comments came Monday during his 2013 State of the City address. Here is what he had to say:

"In 2013, the Roseville HRA (Housing and Redevelopment Authority) will continue work with the city council to consider and hopefully adopt a licensing and inspection program for our larger multi-family rental facilities.

"The city council and HRA and staff have all emphasized in our early discussions on this topic that there are clearly problem properties in Roseville. But we don’t want to implement a program that is simply punitive to all properties, rather than one that provides incentives for resolving problems without over-burdening compliant properties with regulation.

The local rental housing community, both residents and owners or managers, have been engaged in this process, and will continue to be as the plans move forward."
