Update (3:30 p.m.):

"The heavy early morning snow started out compacting from the heavy rush hour traffic but as we were plowing it began melting faster than we were plowing it off and by afternoon most streets were in reasonable condition for driving.

It's April 11.Â
But spring is nowhere to be found.Â
In the Twn Cities, parts of the metro may get up to 10 inches (Click on to this Patch story for details). And this morning besides fallilng snow, the Roseville-area has been treated to flashes of lightning and thunder.Â
On WCCO-TV, weather forecaster Mike Augustyniak has advised viewers to double or triple their drive times to work because of the snowfall.Â
At Roseville School District 623, classes are being held. "Â At this time we anticipate our buildings will be open, but if parents feel it necessary to keep their children home for weather related safety concerns, it will be considered an excused absence," according to a notice on the district's home page.Â
But there are some scattered closings in the metro. Among them: Bethel University in neighboring Arden Hills has cancelled classes today.Â
