Voting Ends Today on Best Place to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Roseville

Today is the final day for voting in our second Patch Readers' Choice contest-Best place to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Roseville.
This week's poll is open until 9 p.m. today (Thursday), March 15. We will announce the winner on Friday, March 16.

Among the contenders for best place to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Roseville is .  That restaurant's Irish-themed food will include mulligan stew, reuben sandwiches and corned beef and cabbage. The bar will also serve three kinds of Irish beer including Guiness.Â
Tom Horwath, general manager at Joe Senser's, said Saturday should be busier than normal for his restaurant and bar with St. Patrick's Day and the start of the NCAA college basketball playoffs occurring on the same day.Â

Other contenders include Roseville VFW Post 7555 andÂ
Grumpy's festivities for St. Patrick's Day include the Minneapolis Pipes and Drums Band performing at 5 p.m. Meanwhile the restaurant wil be serving Irish fare including Guiness stew and soda bread and corned beef and cabbage.
Dawn Kuehl, director of events for Grumpy's Rose Vine Hall, said the St. Patty's Day celebration should be especially big because the green celebration is falling on a weekend this year.
Meanwhile, Roseville VFW Post 7555 will be serving corned beef and cabbage and reuben sandwiches starting at 11 a.m. on St. Patrick's Day. It will also be holding a "pot of gold" contest, best Irish look contest and a meat raffle. The club will also be selling George Killian's Irish red beer.
Last year, VFW Post 7555 served about 250 plates of food on St. Patrick's Day, said club manager Marianne Gordon. The Post's St. Patrick's Day festivities go back at least 17 years, she said.
