Public Hearing Set for Monday on Proposed County Road D Project
City staff is expected to present findings from its feasibility study at the Roseville Council's Jan. 28 meeting.
The Roseville City Council is scheduled to take public comments at its meeting this coming Monday on whether a section of County Road D should undergo reconstruction.
"County Road D between Lexington Avenue and Victoria Street is considered to be in marginal condition, with pavement showing signs of distress with many cracks and severe oxidation," the city said in a recent weekly news update.
City staff is expected to present findings of a feasbility study that the Council authorized last summer for addressing the wear and tear on County Road D.

Roseville's city staff, in concert with the city of Shoreview, held four community meetings to gather feedback on possible street improvements, Roseville officials said.
As a result of those meetings, Roseville has assembled a proposed project that includes reconstructing County Road D with new asphalt pavement and concrete curb and gutter, adding a concrete sidewalk on the south side of the street, reconstructing the watermain, and installing new storm sewer facilities.

After the public hearing on Jan. 28, the City Council will vote on whether to proceede with the project. If it gets a thumbs up, city staff is expected to prepare construction documents for the 2013 summer construction season. Because County Road D is a Municipal State Aid street, a portion of its repairs would be funded using Municipal State Aid funds with the remaining costs assessed to residents with property abutting the street.
