Rosefest 5K and 10K Races Saturday Morning

Hundreds of runners expected to compete in the annual event.

Look for upwards of 300 people pounding the pavement Saturday morning (June 23) when the annual Roseville summer festival, Rosefest, kicks off with 5K and 10K races.

As of mid-week, 286 people had registered for the races, according to city spokesperson Carolyn Çurti. Registrations are being taken through the end of today (Thursday) at City Hall with registrations also being taken on Friday (June 22) and up to Saturday's start at the Roseville Skating Çenter, Curti said. 

There will also be a 10K in-line skate race and a half-mile family fun run. Race action starts just before 8 a.m.

Meanwhile, Roseville Parks and Recreation announced the finish of the Run and Roll for the Roses event will be aired locally on CTV15.  The parks department also said the finish of that race can be viewed by viewed by watching the live webstream at www.skatetheoval.com.

"The webstream broadcast will feature selected tweets that use #rosefest2012," Curti said."Family and friends can send along words of congratulations as participants cross the finish line. Spectators along the course are encouraged to tweet updates of leaders during the event."
