Roseville Girls Hockey Team Defeats Edina to Advance to State AA Tournament Final

Raiders post 4-1 win over the Hornets.

The Roseville High School girls hockey team moved within game of claiming a state AA tltle when it defeated Edina 4-1 this evening at the Xcel Center in downtown St. Paul.

The first period was a defensive battle between the two teams. But the Raiders scored two goals near the end of the second period, building what would prove to be an insurmountable lead. Roseville scored two more goals in the final period, one an empty netter with less than a minute left to play in the contest.

Roseville will now play the winner of the Lakeville North-Minnetonka game.

Roseville is no stranger to girls hockey state championships. The school also has claimed tournament titles in 1996, 1999 and 2010.
