Roseville K-9 Dog Dies

The Roseville Police Department is reporting that a K-9 member of the force died Friday.

The dog, Tasco, passed away of a bacterial infection of his heart, the police department said in an e-mail notice.

Here is the department's statement:

"It is with great sadness we share with you the news that Police K-9 Tasco passed away this (past) Friday morning, July 27th.

Tasco’s partner, Officer Tom Gray brought Tasco to the University of Minnesota Veterinary Hospital as he was a bit lethargic and running a temperature. Early tests indicated he had a bacterial infection around his heart. Tasco passed away shortly thereafter.

We are grateful to the University for the wonderful care provided by its veterinary staff.Our hearts go out to Officer Gray and to his family."

Tasco began his service to our Department in June of 2006 and he and Tom were a great K-9 team. We will miss Tasco."
