Roseville Man Aims to Update βTable Gamesβ
Brandon Williams has a week left on a Kickstarter campaign for a project to help people play classic games against one another using computers, game consoles and mobile devices.

A Roseville man is trying to raise money to bring classic games to computers, game consoles and mobile devices.
Brandon Williams has launched a Kickstarter for a project called βThe Table Games.β The project aims rejuvenate classic games through modern technology.
βThe Table Games is meant to serve as a new platform across home game consoles and mobile devices,β according to the Kickstarter. βA foundation upon which we will build all those games we grew up gathering around a table to play, into the high-tech, fast moving world of todayβwith or without that (physical) table. Those games are still fun to this day, but see less play than ever. The way we game has changed, but that doesn't mean our table games need to fade way because of it.β

If the Kickstarter is fully funded, Williams will bring Mahjong, Chess, Go and one or two games chosen by the Kickstarter backers to Ouya, PC and Macβwith companion apps for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. After an exclusivity period, he will then launch on Wii U and create full versions for Android, iOS and Windows Phone.
Williams said heβs been programming and developing for a decade. His startup, DSA Games, consists of a 3D modeler/designer, a voice actor/talent scout and another developer/quality assurance tester/translator. Williams, who has a separate, full-time job is the only one who will be developing and spending large amounts of time on the project.

He aims to complete the project in June, but the Kickstarter still has a very long way to go. With just a week left before the end of the Kickstarter campaign on Jan. 4, the project has raised only $91 of the $11,081 goal.
