The department late this afternoon issued the following press statement about the incident:

"At approximately 8 a.m. today, the Roseville Police Department arrested three adults after executing a high risk search warrant at 3007 Arona Street.

The investigation, which resulted in today’s search warrant and the arrest of three adults, began in early January when a resident spoke with police about on-going suspicious activity at this home.

Shortly after receiving information from the anonymous resident, police were called to the neighborhood several times during the early morning hours of Friday, Jan. 11 on reports of disturbances and shots fired.

As officers were investigating the shots fired call, officers observed a suspicious auto. When officers attempted to stop and question the auto’s occupants, it fled the scene. Officers gave chase and stopped the fleeing vehicle a short distance away.

During the course of this investigative stop, officers recovered an unloaded semi- automatic pistol in a snow bank near the stop location. Officers also recovered an unloaded pistol magazine, which fit the recovered pistol, along with spent shell casings in the suspect vehicle’s back seat.

Officers arrested the vehicle’s 23-year old male driver and his 17-year old male passenger. Both are residents of St. Paul and were arrested for the reckless discharge of a firearm.

During the course of this investigation, detectives learned the males who were arrested were connected to the renters living at 3007 Arona Street.

Following the arrest, detectives were able to confirm the renters of 3007 Arona Street were involved in on-going criminal activity. They obtained authorization from the courts to execute a search warrant on this residence.

Roseville Police along with the assistance of East Metro SWAT executed the search warrant which resulted in the arrest of the home’s adult occupants.

Arrested were the home’s renters identified as a 19-year old female and 22-year old male. A 23-year old St. Paul male who was a guest at the home was also arrested.

Preliminary investigative information confirms illegal narcotics, drug paraphernalia and a large sum of cash were recovered from the home.

Along with possible narcotic charges, the renters may also be charged with animal neglect. Detectives report finding the carcass of a miniature Doberman and a malnourished Doberman in the basement.

Roseville Animal Control Authorities impounded the malnourished Doberman and secured him at a local veterinary clinic for medical treatment.

It is too early in the investigation to determine what criminal charges the renters/occupants may face. Detectives are currently interviewing suspects.

More information will become available as the case progresses."
