Roseville Rewind: Wal-Mart Vote, A Taproom Brewery License and Rosedale Security

In a 3-2 vote this past week, the Roseville Council upheld the city staff’s determination that the proposed Twin Lakes Wal-Mart store is permitted under the city’s zoning code. 

That was among the top news stories of the week in Roseville Patch.

The council rejected  from Karen Schaffer,, and from SWARN [Solidarity of West Area Roseville Neighbors], a citizens group representing more than 60 Roseville households that opposes the proposed discount store. If you missed the story, for the full report.

• Officials at Rosedale Center in Roseville said Friday (July 20) they were  stepping up security at their shopping mall in light of a tragedy in Colorado that has left at least 12 people dead after a lone gunman entered a theater in that state and went on a shooting spree. to read the full story.

• The Roseville Council voted unanimously at its meeting last week to create a so-called “taproom” liquor license that will allow Pour Decisions Brewery to sell pints and growlers from their 1744 Terrace Drive location. Read the full

• The litigation over the proposed new Roseville fire station is over. The Minnesota Supreme Court refused to hear the petition brought against the(RGR), a citizen group that opposed the funding mechanism used by the City to purchase the bonds, officials said Wednesday in the latest weekly Roseville city update.
