A new Roseville Patch column meant to recognize individuals, businesses and organizations for noteworthy accomplishments, honors and goods deeds.

Today, Roseville Patch is debuting a new column: Roseville Saturday Shout Out.

In our inaugural post we are giving a shout out to two groups: The Roseville Area High School girls gymnastics team and the Macguire Agency.

First, congratulations to the girl gymnasts for winning their second consecutive Class 2A state high school league championship. A few days ago, the Raiders edged out Northfield for the title; among the star performers was sophomore Isis Muller.  To get a flavor of what the Roseville program is like, click on to this Patch story from the 2012 season.

Meanwhile, the Maguire Agency, an independent insurance agency offering property/casualty, employee benefits, and personal insurance lines, said it recently won the “Best in Class – Small Company” Community Impact Award by Minnesota Business Magazine.

Officials said the awards honor companies that make a positive impact on Minnesota communities. Maguire said it was chosen for its culture of continuous volunteer, monetary and material support for many community nonprofits.

“Our day-to-day support for Cradle of Hope, and regular food drives, coat collections and fundraising walks demonstrate that a even small group of people can make a big impact on the lives of those around us who may need a helping hand,” Maguire President Matt Clysdale said in a statement.

The Best in Class – Small Company recognized companies with 50 employees or less that excelled at giving back to the community, Maguire officials said.
