Three candidates, so far, are vying for two council seats.

With today (Tuesday) the last day for filing, three Roseville residents are seeking election to two seats to the City Council.

Those candidates, so far, are: Gerry McDonald and Jason Etten.

Incumbent Council members Jeff Johnson and Tammy Pust said they are not seeking re-election. Their decision means the five-member couuncil will have two new members starting in 2013.

Johnson said his decision not to seek re-election is, in part, based on his belief that serving in any public service capacity shouldn't be forever.

"There is something to be said for a one-term city council member," Johnson  said in a recent interview with Roseville Patch. "That is enough time to make a contribution to the city and community. It's time to move on."
