On Tuesday evening, Venus travelled across the face of the Sun going "from an evening object to a morning object in a rare and dramatic event," the MAS said on its website. The planet's transit across the solar disk began around 5 p.m. in the Twin Cities and was visible for about four hours.
The Sun set just before 9 p.m., with "the transit just past the midpoint," MAS said. The tranist continued until about 11:49 p.m. local time, the group said.
