What's New at Remodeled Roseville Best Buy?

The giant consumer electronics giant held a grand reopening of its Roseville store.

More than 300 shoppers turned out a week ago for the grand reopening of the n Roseville.

Free gift bags, with Best Buy gift cards, proved to be the lure for wooing shoppers. For Best Buy brass it was an opportunity to show off the remodeled store, which is some 45,000 square feet. (If you missed our story )

Paul Dardis, general manger of Best Buy's Roseville store, said these are some of the key features of the remodel:

  • Wider aisles.  The wider foot corridors make it easier for shoppers to naviagate in the store.
  • Lower shelving. This not only makes it easier to see across the store but allows customers to grab boxed merchandise for purchase. No more overhead inventory stacks.
  • A new central "help desk' designed to provide "techno-stressed" shoppers free advice on how they can use their techie gadgets or get them in sync with other electronics.
  • A makeover of the store's appliances department, now featuring a Pacific Sales bath and kitchen center. The store also boasts a sleek presentation of Magnolia Home Theater, a higher-end retail store-within-store.
  • Dedicated brand stations, such as Samsung, to show shoppers how various techie products are interconnected.
  • A new "pick up" window for customers to get merchandise they have ordered online. With its online business becoming an increasingly important, the Roseville store is devoting more back-room space for Internet orders.
