Where Are Those Potholes? Roseville Wants To Know
The annual spring battle to keep city roads in good condition is now uinderway.

Potholes, those annoying blemishes on city roads, are back as temperatures fluctuate between winter freezing and spring thaw.
In its latest weekly email update, the city of Roseville said street crews are repairing potholes and other roadway cracks and problems in order of priority. "The road crews are installing a temporary patch and then prioritizing the problems by size, number and traffic volume to see if more extensive repairs are needed," the city in a news statement.

The city said that potholes form when water from melting snow gets into the cracks of pavement. As theΒ temperature drops, the water freezes and expands, popping out asphalt.Β Β
Potholes also form, the city said, when traffic pressures create weak spots in the pavement and the pavement fails.
