Obituary

Charleen K. 'Char' Schneider, age 70, of Shakopee, died on August 1, 2012, at her residence in Shakopee. 
Char was born on November 29, 1941, in Billings, Montana, the daughter of Gerald and Margaret (O'Callahan) Haney. She graduated from Richfield High School in 1959, and married Bob Schneider June 4, 1960, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shakopee.
Char loved to take her chances playing cards and slot machines at Mystic Lake Casino. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, spending time with her puppy, going North to see friends, trips to Las Vegas, and playing cards with her friends in Shakopee. 
Char was a member of the Red Hat Club, and was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. She volunteered at Mass and events held at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Char enjoyed watching all her grandchildren's sporting events. 
Survived by husband, Bob; sons, Mark, Dan (Marsha), Todd (Rox), Tom (Karen), and Chad; grandchildren, Tasha, Sammi Jo, Mathias, Jamie, Kaitlyn, Jesse, Montana, and McKenna; great-grandchildren, Dominikk and Kylie; sister, Dixie (Bob) Schmit; many other relatives and friends. Preceded by her parents, Gerald and Margaret Haney; Bob's parents, Nick and Margaret Schneider; brother, Jim Haney.

Services

Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, August 7, 2012, 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 535 Lewis Street, Shakopee. Presider is the Reverend Peter Wittman. Pallbearers are Mathias Schneider, Jesse Schneider, Douglas Schneider, Jeff Menke, Scott Schmit, and Dennis Palma. Interment Credit River Cemetery, Prior Lake.

Visitation

Visitation Monday from 4-8 PM at McNearney Funeral Home, 1220 E. 3rd Ave., Shakopee. Visitation will also be held Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 535 Lewis St., Shakopee, from 9-10 AM.
