Apply Now for Shakopee Board, Commission Positions

Shakopee is accepting applications for city board and commission seats that are coming open due to expiring terms.

The following boards have openings:

• Planning Commission/BOAA (2 openings)
• Park and Recreation Advisory Board (3 openings)
• Shakopee Public Utilities Commission (2 openings) 
• Police Civil Service Commission (1 opening)
• Environmental Advisory Committee (2 openings)
• Telecommunications Advisory Commission (1 opening) 
• Historic Preservation Advisory Commission (2 openings)
• Transit Commission (1 opening)
• Economic Development Advisory Committee (2 openings)

Those who are interested can apply online or stop by City Hall. Applicants are encouraged to return their application to City Hall by Jan. 30. The Shakopee City Council will nominate candidates at its Feb. 4 meeting. An interview panel will meet with each applicant after the meeting. The council will appoint those it selects at the Feb. 18 meeting. The new members will take their seats March 1.
