Back to School Sports Meetings Start This Week

The first day of school in Shakopee is just weeks away.

A series of pre-season meetings are scheduled this week before practices start on August 12. The meetings will occur in the Student Commons area at Shakopee High School.

The following schedule was included in the Shakopee School District's summer mailing to parents:

• Monday, August 5 – Girls Tennis and Cheerleading – grades 9-12; 6:00pm
• Monday, August 5 – Volleyball – grades 9-12; 7:30pm

• Tuesday, August 6 – No Meetings

• Wednesday, August 7 – Girls Swim and Dive – grades 7-12; 5:00pm
• Wednesday, August 7 – Football – grades 9-12; 6:00pm

• Thursday, August 8 – Boys and Girls Cross Country –  grades 7-12; 6:00pm
• Thursday, August 8 – Boys and Girls Soccer – grades 9-12; 7:30pm

The purpose of the meetings is to review eligibility rules and general activity policies and for coaches to talk about team rules and expectations. The meetings are mandatory. 

• Eligibility paperwork
• Have on file an updated physical – an updated physical is one within the past 3 years 
• Emergency contact information on file
• Paid activity fee: fees for 9th to 12th grade are $120 and for 7th and 8th grade are $65
