DSI will be responsible for providing all residential sanitation services, including collection, disposal and billing. Most of the transition will happen behind the scenes, but residents will be notified of any necessary steps to verify their account information prior to 2022.
The vast majority of garbage and recycling routes will remain the same with DSI in 2022. If changes to your route becomes necessary, residents will be notified in advance.

DSI is asking that residents confirm their new refuse accounts by visiting www.ShakopeeMN.gov/DSI and completing the form.
Additionally, DSI is purchasing the existing garbage and recycling carts owned by both the city and Republic Services and will continue to use those existing carts for waste collection. Residents who have a Republic Services bin may have noticed a DSI representative placing a DSI cart sticker on their bin in recent weeks, but the cart itself will not be swapped out.
Though weekly recycling is not an option at this time, residents can contact DSI to discuss getting a second recycling cart. For information about what DSI accepts in its recycling program, visit www.RecycleMN.org/what-we-sort.
