The City of Shakopee's e-permit system will be unavailable beginning at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, through 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1 as we transition to a new permitting system to better serve residents, contractors and businesses.

As part of this transition, the city is moving all of its permit and license applications to an online format with zero in-person requirements. To view a complete list of permits and licenses available through the city, click here.

When the new permitting system goes live on Oct. 1, all applicants will be required to register and create a new account, regardless of whether they had an account in the previous e-permit system. There is a computer kiosk at City Hall, 485 Gorman St., for anyone requiring internet or computer access to file an application.

The new system will allow for online scheduling for inspections, a universal platform for plan reviews and the ability to submit backup materials online for items like dog licenses. Payment options have been improved to now allow for debit and credit card payments along with electronic checks.

City staff has been working for more than a year with our software provider to create an enhanced and streamlined customer experience. The city appreciates the community's patience while we provide these long-term improvements to our online permit and license system.
