Officials from each organization gathered Friday morning to celebrate the new crossing with a ribbon cutting.

The bridge, which is part of the Minnesota Valley State Trail’s Mill Pond Crossing, was closed and demolished in 2016 due to structural concerns. During the planning process for the new bridge, archaeological investigations and studies were performed to ensure that the installation and alignment of the bridge and trail would not disturb any native cultural and historic artifacts.
