Eight of Nine Shakopee City Council Candidates to Attend Debate

Eric Brown has declined to participate Wednesday, according to event organizers.

All but one of the nine candidates for Shakopee City Council will take part in tomorrow's forum/debate at .

" will not be attending and he did not give me a reason, just a simple decline," Shakopee Chamber of Commerce's Public Policy Committee chairman and the forum's coordinator Tom Frazier said in an email to Patch today.

The Chamber-sponsored event will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Frazier said he expects that moderator Rob O'Neal, senior pastor of , will get through about 12 rounds of questions in that time.

Candidates participating include , , , , , and . They are running to fill two seats currently held by Patrick Heitzman and Matt Lehman.

The forum will be held in the Shakopee City Council Chambers and will be televised on Shakopee Government Access Channel 16.
