Farmer from Savage Passes Away at 50: Recent Deaths, Week of June 9, 2013

Kevin L. Johnson
Kevin L. Johnsonof Savage, died accidently on Friday, June 7, 2013 at the age of 50. He is described as an "ace mechanic and farmer." He is survived by his loving wife Chris and their son Gregory; parents, Ken and Lavonne Johnson; sister, Barb (Bill) Smith; and nephew Alex Smith. 

A memorial service for Johnson is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2013 at St. James Lutheran Church in Burnsville. Visitation will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at White Funeral Home in Burnsville and also one hour prior to service at church.

Lee A. Menden
Lee A. Menden, of Shakopee, passed away on June 6, 2013, at his home.

He was born on July 20, 1932, in Marystown, MN. Menden married Rosalyn 'Tuddy' Ramaker Aug. 25, 1952, in Shakopee. He worked as a machinist at Continental Machines for almost 40 years.

In his leisure, Menden was an active member of the James F. Campbell #1685 Knights of Columbus and a dutiful volunteer at his church, St. Mark. Lee loved to paint, play cards, travel, and garden. 

Menden was preceded in death by his wife, Tuddy, son, Jeff, and brothers, Ralph and Eldred.

He is survived by his daughters, Gloria 'Jeannie' (Steve) Wanek, Diane (Gerry) Mareck; daughter-in-law, Debbie Menden and husband, Richard Rybak; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Jim (Linda) Menden.

A Mass of Christian burial is scheduled for Monday, June 10, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at Church of St. Mark

Dale William Vohnoutka
Dale William Vohnoutka, resident of Golden Living in Hopkins, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on June 1, 2013, due to health complications. He was 49 years old.

Vohnoutka was born in Shakopee on Aug. 29, 1963, the only child of Daniel and Arvilla (Wangerin) Vohnoutka in Shakopee. Better known as "Cooky," he was an accomplished woodworker who loved the outdoors, hunting, and his dog “Bear.” 

Dale is preceded in death by his father, Daniel Vohnoutka. He will be deeply missed by his mother, Arvilla, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
