Fire Roundup: Lightning Strikes, a Cooking Fire and a Garage Goes Up in Smoke
Lightning struck one Shakopee home on Sunday morning, as a violent thunderstorm rolled through the Twin Cities region.

The Shakopee Fire Department responded to at least three serious incidents over the last seven days.
• A lightning bolt struck a townhome in the Dean Lakes development on Sunday morning, around 7:15 a.m. The detached townhouse on the 4800 block of Bulrush Boulevard sustained damage to the roof and exterior. The lightning strike also damaged an inside wall and took a toll on the home's electrical system. No on was injured.
• The Fire Department responded to a townhome in the 1500 block of 4th Avenue East on Friday. The SFD says that the blaze began after cooking grease caught fire, sending flames extended into the hood of the stove and cabinets above. No injuries were reported.

• Firefighters responded to a garage on Tuesday morning, around 12:39 am. The garage was destroyed, along with two vehicles and a motorcycle. The house itself was mostly unscathed, but for some minimal smoke damage.
