Five Shakopee Wrestlers Headed to State Tournament

Two wrestlers won section titles and three others qualified for the state tournament.

Five Shakopee High School teens will wrestle in the state tournament Saturday at the Xcel Energy Center.

Two seniors, Patrick Casey and Chaydon O'Fallon, won section titles on Saturday, and three other wrestlers qualified for the state tournament.

Casey, O'Fallon, Alex Lloyd, Owen Webster and Alex Denis will compete in the Class 3A individual state tournament, which begins 11 a.m. Friday.

Senior Patrick Casey [won] the 152 pound title with a 14-5 win against Eden Prairie's Matt Gribben.

Senior Chaydon O'Fallon then won the 220 pound title in dramatic fashion. His title match was tied 8-8 in the third period when he was able to throw his Lakeville South opponent to his back and get the pin for the title.
