Highway 169 Shifts to One Lane Traffic, Highway 62 Closing

It's a day for cars in Shakopee on Friday with traffic changes and the Minnesota Valley Rally.

Expect traffic delays on Highway 169 as the Minnesota Department of Transportation begins the Bloomington Ferry Bridge project.

Starting Friday at 10 p.m. southbound traffic on Highway 169 between Old Shakopee Road and Highway 101 will shift to the northbound side of the highway.

Three ramps to southbound Highway 169 will also close: Pioneer Trail, Old Shakopee Road and Highway 101.

MnDOT suggests following the signed detours or finding alternative routes to help ease the traffic congestion.

Also on Friday:

If you're traveling towards the Twin Cities this weekend, watch out for the Highway 62 closure that starts on Friday at 10 p.m. Both directions of Highway 62 between Highway 100 and Interstate 35W will close as MnDOT demolishes the Penn Avenue Bridge deck.

According to MnDOT, "westbound Highway 62 traffic will be detoured to I-494 and to Highway 100. Eastbound Highway 62 traffic will be detoured to I-494 and to I-35W."

Traffic will be open to Fairview Southdale Hospital on eastbound Highway 62.

Remember:
The Minnesota Valley Rally will be in downtown Shakopee from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
It's Senior Day at the Scott County Fair.
