Highway 169 Traffic Shifts Occur Next Week

Shakopee has survived almost one full week of construction on Highway 169. Here are some updates on the project.

The single lane, head to head traffic on Highway 169 will continue until August 23 as part of the Bloomington Ferry Bridge project, the Minnesota Department of Transportation noted on Thursday.

Shakopee drivers should also watch out for a brief closure of the Highway 101 ramp to northbound Highway 169 that will start midnight on Thursday and end by 2 a.m.

The ramp closure comes in preparation of traffic changes planned by the middle of the next week: both directions of traffic on Highway 169 will shift to the south side of the highway.

At that time the following ramps to and from northbound Highway 169 will also close:

  • Pioneer Trail
  • Old Shakopee Road
  • Highway 101
  • County Road 21
MnDOT suggests Highway 101, Highway 41 and Interstate 35W as alternate routes.
