Man Apprehended for Molesting 7-year-old Girl
Authorities have at last found Javier Leon Dorantes, 43, who disappeared after the case against him broke in late 2009.

The case against a man accused of molesting a young Shakopee girl is once again moving forward after over two years of delay.
In fall of 2009, 43-year-old Javier Leon Dorantes was charged with criminal sexual conduct in the second degree, a felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison and a $35,000 fine. He was also charged with two lesser counts: criminal sexual conduct in the fifth degree and indecent exposure. However, Dorantes fell off the radar soon after the case was opened. He was the subject of an active warrant from Nov. 23, 2009 until March 18.
According to the original criminal complaint against Dorantes, in October 2009 Shakopee police received a report of a possible sex crime involving a young girl. The girl, who was seven years old at the time, told her mother that Dorantes (then boyfriend of a relative) had masturbated in front of her and touched her private parts. The girl told her mother that Dorantes would do this when both her parents were at work and everyone else in the house was asleep. During an investigation by social workers, the girl added that Dorantes had also shown her pornographic photos.
