Manhole Work to Disrupt Traffic in Shakopee Starting April 30

The first of several traffic disruptions starts April 30 near Friesian Street and Hackney Avenue in Shakopee.

Preliminary Schedule of Residential Manhole Work

As part of the rehabilitation work on the Metropolitan Council’s Chaska Interceptor, manholes on residential streets in the Providence Point and Countryside areas will be replaced or repaired, according to Shakopee city officials. Traffic lanes will be blocked. Following is a tentative schedule of work:

  • Friesian Street and Hackney Avenue – There are two manholes to be repaired/replaced. Expect intermittent work and closures between April 30 and early June.
  • Nordland Street and Pottok Street – Work expected to start between May 25 and June 1 and to continue for approximately one week.
  • Princeton Avenue – There are two manholes to be repaired/replaced. Expect road closures. Work on each manhole will take approximately two weeks. Work will take place between early June and mid-July.

Manhole replacement/repair work is also planned at Secretariat Drive and Canterbury Road. Work will begin the week of May 14 and continue for approximately one week.
