Meeting Preview: Dog Park Planned for Murphy-Hanrehan
The City of Savage has been negotiating a deal with Scott County and Three Rivers to build a dog park in south Savage.

Tuesday
Savage Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources Commission will consider plans for a new dog park at Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve. For about a year, the Savage city staff has been working with Scott County and the Three Rivers Park District to develop a park for pooches at the reserve, which would go into the area near the trail head station on Murphy Lake Road.
The approximate cost is $66,000 for the park infrastructure (fencing, drinking fountain, concrete walk pads, pay kiosk), and an additional $60,000 for road and parking lot improvements. The county and Three Rivers have agreed to pay for the park itself, while the city would be on the hook for the road. A fee would be required to use park—$5 a day or $35 for a year pass.
