Scott County Relay For Life Moving Inside Due to Forecasted Storms

The Relay For Life of Scott County, scheduled to take place outside at Shakopee Junior High is moving indoors.

The Relay For Life of Scott County, scheduled to take place outside at will officially be moving indoors, due to a 50 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms, event officials said Thursday night.

According to the National Weather Service, there's a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in Shakopee Friday with mostly cloudy skies, a high near 89 and a south wind 5 to 7 mph. On Friday night, there's a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with mostly cloudy skies and a low around 69. South southwest wind around 5 mph. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

"Although this is not ideal, we won't let the storms stop us from having a great event," said organizer Annette Clan in a statement. "We've done indoors before - and we'll do it again!"
