Scoundrels, Outlaws and Shakopee Mayors to Gamble Together in Historical Society Event
The historical society is holding a gambling-filled opening night extravaganza for the launch of its "Outside the Law" exhibit later this month.
Current and former Shakopee elected officials will be on hand at the Scott County Historical Society on May 24 for a night featuring outlaws, gambling and scoundrels.
Shakopee Mayor Brad Tabke and his predecessor, John Schmitt, will be croupiers for craps, blackjack and roulette during the opening of the society's "Outside the Law" exhibit.
The exhibit show photos and artifacts from Prohibition-era Scott County, including a slot machine, a grenade-style fire extinguisher and a shot glass from the Riviera Night Club.
