Sealcoating of Shakopee Streets Starts This Week

The parking lots at Tahpah Park will also be closed for sealcoating next Monday.

Several west Shakopee streets will be getting sealcoating starting this week as part of the city's annual project:

  • Harrison Street, from 10th Avenue to 11th Avenue
  • Jackson Street, from 10th Avenue to 11th Avenue
  • Van Buren Street, from 10th Avenue to 12th Avenue
  • Tyler Street, from 11th Avenue to 12th Avenue
  • 12th Avenue, from Taylor Street to Adams Street
  • Atwood Street, from Shakopee Avenue to 10th Avenue
On Monday, June 10, the parking lots at Tahpah Park will also be closed as part of the sealcoating project.

The city has more about the sealing process and inconveniences for residents:

Crack sealing uses biodegradable paper that washes away in the rain. Click here to see a map of which streets will receive a crack seal. Temporary "No Parking" signs will be posted the day before work is to begin. Do not park on the street; vehicles will be towed.

A list of all Shakopee's summer 2013 construction projects is available on its website.
