Update: Body Recovered in Search for Missing Man in Savage
Authorities said they recovered a body from the Minnesota River at about 1:45 p.m. today.
A man's body was found in the Minnesota River in Savae near the area where authorities had been searching for a man missing since Sunday.
At 11:13 a.m. Tuesday, a tow boat captain reported a body floating in the Minnesota River about ¼ mile down river from an old railroad swing bridge in Savage, according to Savage Police Capt. Dave Muelken. The body was recovered by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from Savage Police and Fire Department. The body of an adult male has been taken to the Minnesota Regional Coroner’s Office for identification, Muelken said.
A 33-year-old Plymouth man has been missing since at least Sunday and authorities believed he could have jumped from the bridge, which is near Vernon Avenue in Savage.

Savage police got involved Sunday after Plymouth police called and asked for assistance with the missing person case, Muelken said. Savage police found the missing man's car parked on Vernon Avenue near a barricade on the way to the river.Â
He said that area of the river is difficult to search because it's murky and deep due to dredging in the area for barge traffic.
