Shakopee Bank Teller Robbed at Gunpoint
The robber made off with more than $1,000, according to authorities.
Today at approximately 11:25 a.m., a teller at in downtown Shakopee was robbed by a man with a handgun, according to authorities.
The man entered the bank at 115 First Avenue East through the back door and approached the teller counter, according to Chief Jeff Tate.
The robber then allegedly pointed the handgun at a teller and demanded cash. After he got the cash, he fled from the bank on foot, according to a news release from the FBI. The FBI is working with local police as is standard procedure in a bank robbery. Tate said the man made off with more than $1,000.

The robber has been described as a white male, 19-29 years old, approximately 5 foot 7 inches to 5’9” in height with a thin build, according to the FBI news release. The robber was wearing dark clothing with a black neck warmer pulled up over his face. He also wore a black stocking cap on his head.
