Shakopee Chamber Makes a Move
The Chamber has temporarily moved their offices to 1275 Ramsey Street, Suite 300.

If your plans include heading to the Shakopee of Chamber of Commerce, starting today you won’t find the staff at 1801 East County Road 101.
That’s because the nearly 30-year-old chamber building has been temporarily turned over to contractors, all Chamber members, for repair and remodeling.
In the meantime, staff has set up shop at 1275 Ramsey Street, Suite 300, near the intersection of Marschall Road and Vierling Drive. Their phone number will stay the same and calls will be transferred to their new office space for the duration.

Chamber President Angie Whitcomb said the work being done is addressing nearly 30 years of deferred maintenance.
“It will be a colossal headache for us, but not for our members,” Whitcomb said. “It will be worth every minute though.”

Work on the Chamber-owned building includes a new roof, repairing water damaged ceilings and walls, reconfiguring the lobby, new carpet, paint, doors and some new furniture, in addition to making everything compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Whitcomb declined to say what the project is costing but said it’s being paid for partly in cash and from a rebuilding fund.
“We could have made an argument to do a lot more,” Whitcomb said.
Chamber staff plans to be back in their original location by Dec. 19.
Due to the repairs, the November Chamber 101 session has been cancelled with their next session to be held at 8 a.m. Wed. Dec. 21.
