Shakopee City Council: Who's Running for Election?

Patch will keep you updated on who has filed for candidacy for the Shakopee City Council.

Residents have until Tuesday, Aug. 13 to file for candidacy for Shakopee mayor and city council seats.

Mayor


The race for the next mayor of Shakopee had an early start with the filing of current Mayor Brad Tabke and current Councilor Matt Lehman for the position.  

Brad Tabke will finish his first term as mayor at the end of the year. His website is bradtabke.com.

Councilor Matt Lehman will finish his term on the city council in December 2015. He first took office in January of 2002. Lehman has a website at re-elect-lehman.com.

City Council Members


There will be two seats open for election in November. Councilor Pamela Schurman and Councilor Steve Clay have terms ending this year. Schurman has resigned.

Clay first took office in 2006. He has not yet filed for candidacy.

Three people have filed for candidacy so far:

  • Kathi Mocol has a website listed, but it is not operating yet: kathimocol.com.
  • Jordan Olson
  • Matt Reimler
  • Aaron Weyer
