Shakopee Clinic Gets Grant to Improve Patient Care

Eight grants were given out by Fairview Physician Associates to select member clinics.

Fairview Physician Associates (FPA) recently announced that eight of its member clinics and providers would receive grant money to improve quality of care and further innovation.

Of the eight recipients, one has a Shakopee location that will benefit from the funding, according to a press release.

Twin Cities Orthopedics, P.A., which has locations all over the metro and in Shakopee, will use the funding to expand an existing Web-based virtual clinic project to help reduce emergency room visits and youth sports injuries in Minnesota, the release said.

As part of the annual grant program, FPA member clinics received varying amounts of funds up to $10,000. A total of $53,000 was given through the eight grants.

“Through our small grant program and other tools, we aim to help member clinics achieve our Triple Aim of exceptional patient care and patient and family experience, while holding down total cost of care,” Dr. William Nersesian, FPA chief medical officer, said in the release.

The clinic will also provide its own funding or in-kind services to support its project and provide data for FPA to share with other member clinics, which will hopefully improve clinical quality and innovation.
