Shakopee Jr. High School Staffer to Help Create Model for Evaluating Principals
Administrative Assistant to the Principal Nomi Chail is among those recently named to serve.

Shakopee Junior High School Administrative Assistant to the Principal Nomi Chail is among those recently named to serve on the legislatively mandated Principal Evaluation working group. Members of the task force, named by Minnesota Education Comissioner Brenda Cassellius, are charged with developing policy recommendation to implement a performance-based model for principal evaluation.
“Great schools depend on great school leaders,” said Commissioner Cassellius in a news release. “It’s important to make sure we not only recognize effective principals, but that we also have tools in place to help them continue to grow professionally. I look forward to the recommendations of the working group about the best ways to develop an effective principal evaluation system that is consistent with our goals of providing a world class education to every Minnesota student.”
The working group was created by legislation passed during the 2011 special session.
