Shakopee High School Teacher Named FOX 9 Top Teacher

Shakopee High School teacher Autumn Lee received the award on Wednesday.

 teacher Autumn Lee received the Fox 9 Top Teacher Award on April 25. 

Lee teaches Life Evolves Around Possibilities (LEAP). Most of her students are minorities and most will be the first in their families to attend college, according to Shakopee School District officials. Lee's students nominated her for the award without her knowledge. Out of about 100 teachers nominated for the award, she is one of only nine chosen to receive it.

A large group was on hand as Lee received the award, including a representative from Royal Credit Union who presented her with $900 to use for school supplies or anything she may need for her class.

Her class also gets to have a party courtesy of . About 100 students from all of her four classes filled the lecture room where the surprise award was presented.

The presentation will air on Fox tonight at 5 p.m., 9 p.m. and 10 p.m.
