Shakopee Looking for Four New Firefighters

Shakopee is accepting applications for four new full-time firefighter positions.

If you're interest in applying, an application is on the city's website. The job entails putting out fires, rescuing people from fires, preventing fires, not starting fires—you know, firefighter stuff:


POSITION SUMMARY:  
Responds to emergency calls for service; saves lives through rescue from fire or other hazardous environments; and applies a range of fire suppression methods to prevent, control and stop property damage.  Inspects, maintains and repairs a wide range of firefighting equipment.  Participates in pre-fire planning, safety inspections, fire prevention and public education efforts.

STARTING WAGE: 
 $22.45 - $24.58 per hour, depending on qualifications, plus full benefits.

WORK HOURS: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
